Jen Talbot, Principal + Creative Director

20 years experience in the hospitality, 8 years in product design + 15 years as practicing studio artist; Jen Talbot Design was formed in 2016 by Jen Talbot. An internationally recognized, multidisciplinary American designer establishing a reputation for innovation and ingenuity. She actively takes notes from her installation art practice, in which she created the ephemeral. She created conceptual narrative through performance-based installation art, consistently utilizing the human form as a part of the sculpture. With this rich creative lineage, Talbot sees each space compressed like a work of art and carefully crafts a visual composition into each space. Promulgating innovation on empty spaces, not unlike an empty page, Talbot often uses color or the absence of color, to function as a visual catalyst. Talbot’s genesis is taking the familiar, the everyday, and the ordinary, and removing it from the veil of provincial domesticity through creating spatial narratives.

The deep network of artists, artisans and vintage merchants, make up a support network critical to the success of our work. Realized through layering of open + solid shapes, linear + irregular line and elements of the hand made. Our goal is to build an innovative environment relevant to each client, customizing the work to the needs of the people inhabiting the space.

Clients that seek innovation and a fresh design perspective grace her client list and include the heir to Bergdorf Goodman, VP of Kate Spade, the editor of a major magazine, Boeing and Silicon Valley Execs. In 2020, while people around the world sought new footing, Jen broke into the international design scene as an Instagram micro-influencer. Her projects have been published in seven international design magazines, including Arch Digest, ELLE DECORATION Netherlands, Modern Luxury, Marie Claire, and Living, ETC. Working with luxury residential clients in NY, LA, San Francisco and Chicago.

In 2021, Jen launched her own product line. Studio Line, a collection of artisan fabrics, wallpaper, select furnishings, and accessories that draw from Jen’s rich past experiences as sculptor, installation artist, and product designer.

Marissa, our lead Interior Designer, is an invaluable asset to our team with her impressive educational background and diverse range of skills. Graduating from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in event management and advertising, she developed a strong foundation in understanding the intricacies of creating beautiful and functional spaces. Building upon this knowledge, Marissa then pursued an associate's degree in interior design with a lighting certificate from the College of DuPage, honing her expertise in crafting the perfect atmosphere through thoughtful lighting design.
Before joining our team, Marissa began her career in the hospitality industry, where she quickly distinguished herself with her exemplary interpersonal skills and unwavering professionalism. Throughout her journey, it became evident that Marissa possessed a natural talent for composition and aesthetics, allowing her to seamlessly transition into the world of design. Now, as an established designer at Jen Talbot Design, Marissa combines her in-depth education and charismatic personality to create spaces that not only meet the functional needs of clients but also exude beauty and sophistication.
With Marissa's expertise and passion for design, clients can rest assured that their spaces will be handled with the utmost care and creativity. Her ability to blend practicality with beauty, alongside her exceptional skills in software applications, sets the stage for awe-inspiring design solutions that exceed expectations. Nicole, with prior experience directing operations and estate management in the venture capital and technology industry, brings proficiency and attention to detail to our team. Originally from San Francisco, she now resides in New York City and is dedicated to serving our NY-based clientele. Transitioning her passion for design, Nicole discovered her true love in designing for luxury clients. Inspired by vintage and antique furniture, she draws design inspiration from historical styles. Nicole graduated from the New York School of Interior Design, where she honed her skills in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and color theory. She also holds a bachelor's degree in Politics from the University of San Francisco. When not hunting for vintage treasures, you can likely find Nicole in Central Park with her husband and beloved dog, Scooter.

Amelia, our Studio Manager, plays a vital role within our team at Jen Talbot Design. With her extensive background in event planning, project management, and fundraising consulting for nonprofit clients, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. Amelia's passion for streamlining processes, building relationships, and innovative design is apparent in everything she does. She holds a degree from Oberlin College and has garnered invaluable experience working in the bustling city of Washington, DC. Since joining our team in November 2022, Amelia has been an indispensable asset, providing crucial support to both Jen Talbot Design and our clients.
Beyond the office, Amelia cherishes her time outside of work, where she finds joy in exploring the vibrant neighborhoods of Chicago. When she's not out and about, Amelia finds solace in the pages of a good book, diving into the captivating worlds created by talented authors. Amelia's passion for life and well-rounded interests make her an integral part of our team, bringing not only her professional expertise but also a contagious enthusiasm for the world of design.

Kayelin, a talented and passionate individual armed with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Florida, holds the esteemed position of social media manager at Jen Talbot Design. With a unique blend of creativity and expertise in digital marketing, she has become an invaluable asset to the team. However, Kayelin's contributions extend far beyond the realm of mere social media management. As a true multi-hyphenate, she leverages her skills to collaborate closely with female business owners, empowering them to elevate their online presence and reach new heights of success. Through her exceptional talents in content creation, graphic design, and video editing, Kayelin effortlessly showcases Jen Talbot Design's luxurious interior designs to a captivated audience.
